2008 FOCUS - Listed as "Top Ten Coolest New Cars"

Kelly Blue Book has named the 2008 Focus one of the "Top Ten Coolest New Cars Under $18,000" thanks to its styling, handling, safety features and innovative technologies such as SYNC. Nearly 40 percent of Focus units sold during the past five months included SYNC.  KBB.com sites there were a combination of things that make the new Ford Focus cool, including styling, handling and Ford SYNC™ technology.

Comprehensive restyling and retuning give the Focus a more contemporary flair and even better handling. The hatchbacks and wagon are discontinued, but the sedan is joined by a new coupe. All now feature air conditioning, tilt steering column and front, front-side and side-curtain airbags, plus SYNC (standard on SES) that adds in-car connectivity for cell phones and personal media players.

FORD KEEPS WITH THE GREEN

For the second time in five years, Ford Motor Company has won the award for “Best Sustainability Reporting” from the Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies (Ceres) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Ford previously earned the honor in 2004, and shares this year’s award with Timberland clothing company.  The award recognizes excellence in reporting sustainability, environmental and social issues by companies in the United States and Canada. It also gives guidance to other entities that are publishing or intend to publish sustainability reports. An independent, 12-member panel of judges considered nearly 90 reports before unanimously naming the co-winners of this year’s award.

Ford last week it has built its 9 millionth Mustang. The Ford Mustang, approaching its 45th anniversary on April 17th, 2009, is one of the most widely recognized vehicles in the world.
